The Rotary Club of Bayside Geelong is involved with an exciting international project to benefit children from primary schools in the Gulf Province in Papua New Guinea.
This project – Lucy’s Stationery Drive for PNG – is as simple as collecting unused stationery items and delivering them to “Donations-In-Kind”, a Rotary arm that receives donations and arranges for container loads to be shipped overseas to areas of need. There is a container booked for May 2021 to deliver stationery items to PNG.
The project is asking for donations of the following items:
- Exercise books Junior reading books
- Pencils, textas Erasers, rulers
- Folders and educational aids: shapes, alphabet letters, numbers.
- School uniform items and back packs
The timeline is Thursday 22nd April for final donations to come in, and this will be collected from Oberon Primary School by Monday 26th April. Donations can be left at the Office. Many thanks to Eileen Hulston for her support in co-ordinating this worthy project.
